Aikido
Aikido is quite a different martial art from Taekwondo. Instead of using kicks and strikes, we teach students throws, locks, and pins that deflect violence. The whole purpose of the art is to stop an aggressor as peacefully as possible without committing violence.
Finding Harmony
This isn’t about using your opponents’ attacks to counter-attack. Rather, Aikido is used to match the aggressor’s moves, and rather than strike back, we diffuse. We move their movements and redirect the attack away from either person.
Self-Defense Techniques
This may be the best martial art for self-defense. Firstly, we teach you how to avoid taking hits or being overcome physically. Secondly, its non-violent approach in itself is a form of self-defense. Using these skills in unfortunate situations is the best way to end conflict.
Health and Fitness
Outside of learning self-defense skills, Aikido is great for your health – physically and mentally! It is calming and keeps you active. It’s the perfect blend of calm and productive training.
