Welcome to WarCats TaekwonDo – the best Corpus Christi Taekwondo school for your children! This is a close-knit community that is focused on getting better on and off the mat. We follow the Five Tenets of Taekwondo every day in our school – Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit. Students walk into Taekwondo classes and enter a positive atmosphere where they will build confidence and self-esteem. This goes for both our adults and kids Taekwondo training. We place an emphasis on building life skills rather than becoming the best fighters in the world. We have been providing Corpus Christi Taekwondo since 1986 and hope to see you become a part of our training family!

Our School
The goal for us at WarCats TaekwonDo is to build better, stronger individuals. We have designed our Taekwondo training program specifically to maximize our students’ potential. This starts with our wonderful staff! The staff is filled with many different personalities, ages, and backgrounds, including experience in public education and health. Nevertheless, all share a passion for helping others and make Taekwondo lessons fun, engaging, and highly energetic. In these classes, we teach a well-balanced curriculum that is broken down into pieces to ensure students’ success. This allows us to help struggling students and keep our motto, “No child left behind”. We use positive reinforcement to alert our students to what they are doing right and how to get better. But the fun doesn’t stop on the mats! We have many community events to build camaraderie and to help teach valuable lessons. History
We have been uplifting students ever since Master Reymundo Gonzalez opened our Corpus Christi Taekwondo school in 1986. When Master Gonzalez opened the school, he never imagined it would become his life. We started small but have built our kids Taekwondo program to become a full community – one that is nearly 40 years in the making. Before WarCats TaekwonDo, Master Gonzalez spent time as a Principal for nearly 20 years. He learned valuable skills in child development and anti-bullying – his two biggest passions at WarCats. He’s used those lessons to make our Taekwondo school a place where parents can bring their children to improve at home and in school. As more kids blossom on our mats, Master Gonzalez hopes to have his legacy continued for years on end.

There are not many Corpus Christi Taekwondo schools – or any Taekwondo schools for that matter – that approach every day quite like us. We may teach punches and kicks but that’s not our main objective. With a close-knit staff and a strong mentality, we are striving to build better humans. Our Taekwondo classes teach life skills that can be used in all aspects of life. This is what WarCats TaekwonDo is really all about!
With Master Gonzalez’s passion and expertise, we have emphasized implementing anti-bullying into children’s Taekwondo lessons. We can’t stop bullying completely, but we can alert students on how to handle tough situations and to push past it.
The number one thing we do at our school is to kickstart children’s personal development, especially mentally. We make sure they gain life skills and confidence to make the best of everything in life.
Master Reymundo Gonzalez spent nearly two decades as a Principal and Band Director. He has used his experience to make our Corpus Christi Taekwondo classes different. All of the training is planned out and we have designed kids Taekwondo for growth.
Our curriculum is broken down into small chunks to provide the best path to progression for our students. Everything done in our Taekwondo classes is focused and allows kids to take things one step at a time.
We have many different social gatherings and fun events to bring our Taekwondo community together. These include:

- Veteran’s, Mother’s and Father’s Day
- Workout
- Bring a Buddy Day
- And More!
Many parents feel like our Taekwondo school provides an extra hand in helping their child’s development. If they are misbehaving at home, having trouble at school, or anything else you can let us know. We’ll make sure to help them through it and make sure they are set on the right path.
